Unit Reflection

I have learned a lot from creating this unit plan.  Feeling in all of the components made me more aware of things that I'm not neccessarily used to such as accommodations and modifications for students.  It was actually kind of fun to create such a unit.

I had to make an interest for a Gifted class this summer, it was based on the Titanic, so I decided to further develop this lesson by creating it into a unit.  I hope that it can fit into my curriculum in the near future because my students are already interested in this particular topic.

Diigo Reflection

I have to adnit that I was somewhat intimidated by this assignment until I realized what it really was.  It was a fairly easy assignment.  I didn't become frustrated at anytime.  I found that this was the least challenging assignment of all since it didn't require any creating.

I have completed assignments similar to this in previous classes during undergrad.  Teachers required us to compile a list of teaching websites to share with everyone.  I love this idea because I will always have this tool to refer back to.  I have lost my lists from other classes, or lost the drive that I saved it on.  This is awesome!

Prezi Reflection

The Prezi was actually fun to make after navigating through the program.  I love tis tool!  It's much more interesting than Powerpoint.  I can't wait to learn more about this resource, and get started using it in my classroom.  I have to admit, that I'm not sure about this unit.  Thus far, I've been submitting assignments in isolation.  They have not been a part of a unit.  I will definitely have to get some clarification on this.

Video Reflection

This assignment was definietly a head scratcher.  I decided to use Powtoons to create the video.  This program appeared to be very user friendly, but I was stuck on minor things such as timeline seconds.  After viewing a few tutorials, I was finally able to get it done.  I actually learned a lot during this process.  I learned how to create the video as well as how to create the You Tube channels.  I may end up being technology savvy by the end of this class.  I will definitely use Powtoons in the future.  Once I'm comfortable with the features, it will be a very useful recource for my classroom.

P.S Thanks Courtney for sharing the Powtoons link.

Blog Reflection

September 15, 2013

This has definitely been a great experience.  I've always wondered how people create these awesome blog sites.  I never knew it could be done free.  I am still playing around with it trying to figure out all of the components.  It seems to be pretty simple so far.  I hope that I can get better with this tool because I would definitely like to use it in the future, not just as a class assignment.  I would love to find out more about graphics, customized boarders, and all of the fun stuff.

I visited so pretty interesting blogs from some amazing teachers.  I really aspire to be just as creative with my own one day.  This tool is so powerful in the fact that its a great portal for sharing ideas and experiences with teaching and other things.

Welcome to my blog!  My main purpose of starting this blog initially was to complete a class assignment.  As I become more comfortable with it, I plan on using it for sharing ideas and experiences.  I'm very excited to get statrted!  I can't believe that I can officially call myself a blogger.  I love this!  I get happy over the little things!
